Why Choose Zanewood STEAM

Zanewood Community School: A Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math School offers a STEAM curriculum to students in prekindergarten through fifth grade that helps them become strategic, creative and critical thinkers.

All Zanewood educators are highly trained in STEAM concepts and work with each individual child to foster academic and personal growth. Zanewood is home to approximately 400 scholars, and this small size means we're able to develop strong relationships with each student and family.

Zanewood enrolls students through the district's Enrollment Center; non-residents and/or those who live outside the attendance area may apply through the Northwest Suburban Integration School District (NWSISD).

emPOWERed by STEAM

We offer scholars a comprehensive curriculum that includes more than 65 hours of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) instruction every year—empowering students to be creators, collaborators and problem solvers. Introduction to STEAM concepts during a child's elementary years can provide a solid foundation for continued growth and exploration in middle school and beyond.

Opportunities to shine

Our students get involved in a variety of academic and extra-curricular opportunities, including:

  • Band, choir and orchestra
  • Math and reading Academic Adventures
  • Robotics Team
  • Zanewood TV
  • Field experiences at Mississippi Gateway Regional Park

In addition, annual engagement events such as STEAMfest allow Zanewood families to share in the amazing learning that takes place every day.
